How STUART’S Driving Lesson Prices Work
When choosing driving lessons, it is useful to understand how lesson prices are calculated before you book. At STUART’S Driving School, lesson prices are postcode based, so the cost of your lessons depends on the area where your lessons take place.
STUART’S offers both manual and automatic driving lessons across Central Scotland, with different hourly rates available in different postcode areas.
Why Are STUART’S Lesson Prices Postcode Based?
The postcode rate is normally based on your home postcode. However, if agreed with your instructor, the rate may instead be based on your pick-up or drop-off postcode, such as your school, college or workplace.
This means your exact lesson price can depend on where you are being picked up or dropped off.
Manual and Automatic Driving Lesson Prices
STUART’S Driving School offers different rates for manual and automatic lessons depending on the postcode area.
- Edinburgh City: Manual £50 per hour | Automatic £55 per hour
- East Lothian: Manual £50 per hour | Automatic £55 per hour
- Midlothian: Manual £50 per hour | Automatic £55 per hour
- West Lothian: Manual £42 per hour | Automatic £47 per hour
- Falkirk: Manual £41 per hour | Automatic £46 per hour
- Kirkcaldy: Manual £45 per hour | Automatic £50 per hour
- Scottish Borders: Manual £40 per hour | Automatic £45 per hour
How Long Is a Standard Driving Lesson?
STUART’S standard driving lessons are 2 hours in duration. In some circumstances, 90-minute or 1-hour lessons may be considered if there is something specific to practise, a fault that needs attention, or by prior agreement with the instructor.
Your instructor can discuss the benefits of different lesson lengths with you and help determine what suits your current driving needs.
Are There Any Additional Lesson Charges?
Instructors may apply an additional surcharge of £5 per hour for late evening and weekend lessons.
Block booking discounts may also be available, depending on the instructor.
What About Fuel Price Changes?
STUART’S Driving School has not increased its lesson prices in response to the current increase in fuel prices. However, discounts on future block-booking packages may be removed until fuel prices return to normal.
